Jim Blanchard, a past president of the SER 1986-1988, Yarbrough Recipient, and member of the Honors and Awards committee passed away in his sleep May 24, 2016.  He had suffered a stroke three weeks prior to his death.

Jim served as SER vice-president from 1982-1986.  He was chairman of the 1982 Mobile convention which gave their entire proceeds to the region that got us into solvency.  They also funded the first region car project.

Jim owned and operated GM&O Hobbies on Azalea  Rd in Mobile until his retirement several years back.

 

While not active in recent years, Jim was a major contributor to the SER in our early rebuilding of the region.
