John says that in 2014, “My wife brought up the topic of building an addition to our house. I was more in favor of buying some land and building a new house, but when she offered me almost full use of the basement for a model railroad, I softened to the idea. The only stipulation was that the railroad model seasons. Since the area I live in now does not really have seasons, I went searching for prototypes to model.
